Ikkarim (translation- Foundations) will start on Sunday, September 19th at 9:15AM
This 19-week program is run jointly through Hebrew College and Combined Jewish Philanthropies. We are very honored to serve once again as a site for this class invite you to take part in this unique opportunity.
The Ikkarim class is an inspirational journey through ancient texts and modern themes as participants search for our Ikkarim, which in classical Hebrew refers to both our “roots” and “principles”. Participants will explore basic Jewish values and their modern significance by bringing their own contemporary concerns to text-study. Those in the class will discover how these values apply within—and can enrich—our many circles of relationships: with our children, spouses and friends; with our fellow citizens and community; with our people; and even with ourselves and with God. This class is designed for parents of children newborn through second.
The underwritten fee for the class is $250 for the 19-sessions. Members who wish to participate in the class will receive and additional $50 scholarship from our Adult Education Fund. In addition, babysitting will be provided.
