Congregation Sha'aray Shalom Lifelong Learning

JCC Preschool

Our Mitzvah TreeWe look toward the next generation and are continuing the registration for the JCC.

The time is right for Congregation Sha'aray Shalom, in partnership with the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston, to create an early childhood Jewish preschool.

Over the past four years, more than one hundred children under the age of six have joined the Congregation Sha'aray Shalom community. We now have three classes in our Religious school dedicated to the education of children under the age of four. Experience across the country shows that the earlier a high quality Jewish education begins, the earlier families affilitate and feel comfortable living rich Jewish lives. As soon as children take their first steps we have the opportunity and the obligation to begin to impart Jewish beliefs and teachings, as well as to teach children to enjoy healthy and fullfilling lives.

A stranger passes by and asks, "Why are you planting that tree? You are very old and it will be many years before the tree will provide fruit or shade." The old man replies, "The food that I enjoyed and the shade that I sat under were provided for me by those who came before me. As my anchestors planted for me, so do I plant for my children and my children's children." - The Talmud
