- September, 2009 – Sign up to tutor at-risk elementary students at The Holmes School in Dorchester.
- September 19, 2009 - Yom Kippur Food Collection Drive begins. Paper bags to be handed out on Rosh Hashanah.
- September 28, 2009 - Yom Kippur food drive ends. Food is collected before/after Yom Kippur services for delivery to the Scituate and Hingham Food Pantries.
- October 4, 2009 - Flea market to benefit the Youth Scholarship Fund.
Jewish Family and Children’s Services Family Table – Greater Boston’s kosher food pantry provides healthy, nutritious food on a monthly and emergency basis to individuals and families in need. Here is how you can help:
- Bring a box of graham crackers and /or a box of grain (couscous) to be placed in a box labeled Family Table in the lobby. We need to have 30 of each on a monthly basis.
- The boxes need to be delivered once a month to the Family Table in Waltham. Drivers needed.
- January 10, 2010 – 5-7 congregants are needed to drive to Family Table in Waltham to help sort and deliver the food.
Jewish Family and Children’s Services Hanukah Project – Sponsor a child/children and purchase gifts to enable a family in Greater Boston to fully celebrate Hanukah.
Project Ezra - Assist with Meals on Wheels on Christmas Day delivering to residents in Quincy.
Father Bill’s - Prepare and serve dinner at Father Bill’s in Quincy. Date: TBA
May 2, 2010 – Mitzvah Day – Congregation Sha’aray Shalom flea market, Blood drive, visit a nursing home, clean a beach, help prepare/serve the annual post Mitzvah Day BBQ.
